Travels News is an independent website covering holiday consumer rights and travel protection: what counts as a package holiday, how ATOL and other financial protection work, travel insurance, budget travel and the trends shaping how we go away.
Who it is for
We write for UK holidaymakers who want to understand what they are buying, and what to do if something goes wrong. Our aim is to explain things clearly, in plain English, and to point you to the official source when a rule or a figure matters.
How our articles are researched
Articles are researched from published sources. For anything involving the law, tax or money, such as package travel law, ATOL, travel insurance and passenger rights, we work from primary and official sources wherever possible, including GOV.UK, legislation.gov.uk, HMRC and the relevant regulators, and we link to them in the article so you can check the detail yourself. Figures that change, such as tax rates and thresholds, are dated to the year they apply to.
Our writers publish under the bylines shown on each article, and each author page describes the subjects that writer covers. We do not claim professional qualifications we do not have, and nothing on Travels News is personal financial, legal or tax advice.
